Improve the community in which you live by working on public roads, lands, and waterways (highways, municipal and rural roads and rights-of-way). Work and receive the job training and wage. We are targeting young adults (18-29 and veterans up to 35). Duties include mowing, edging, sweeping, litter removal, brush removal, tree removal, sign washing, occasional fencing and guardrail repair.
No experience necessary, but experience in roadside maintenance, landscaping, zero turn mowers, saws, Stihl equipment is helpful especially for advancement. Must be willing to work outside in unpredictable Florida weather including but not limited to extreme heat, cool, and windy conditions.
On the job training and youth development program, employability skills such as certifications as well as health insurance incentive bonus, simple IRA retirement plan. Potential eligibility for an AmeriCorps education award for college, trade school or pay off a student loan. This is an up to 10 -24 month developmental position. Opportunity for advancement.
Florida resident with 2 forms of ID and career, education or life skills goals. Transportation to get to the meeting spot in morning, our storage unit in Ft. Lauderdale and be picked up there by our Supervisor and in our truck.
Approximately $9.00 – $11.00 /hour Depends upon experience
