Overview

After years of working in Louisiana, Texas Conservation Corps is excited to start a new adventure based in Baton Rouge. Join us for our first ever Louisiana Conservation Corps! This crew will tackle some of the toughest problems in Louisiana including disaster response, coastal restoration, and public land maintenance needs.

Project partners include: Kisatchie, Winn, & Caney Ranger Districts, Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries, Louisiana State Parks, and Cane River Creole National Historical Park.

Leaders will co-lead a 10 person crew through conservation projects. Crews will typically work a 10 days on and 4 days off schedule: leaving on a Monday, and coming back the following Wednesday. At the beginning of the week, the crew will go grocery shopping and purchase food with a budget provided by LaCC. The crews will then work, camp, eat, and live together until the end of their 10 day work cycle.

For local project site’s, crews will work a regular 8-5pm, Monday-Friday schedule. During projects, the crews will get to and from their project sites using our vehicles, driven by the crew leaders.
